Watch Two Classic Rally Quattros Do What Rally Quattros Do Best
There are few cars from the history of rallying that are more iconic than the magnificent Audi Quattro. The sound of those turbocharged 5-cylinder beasts barking out an operatic soundtrack is probably the greatest noise ever heard in motorsport. The question is, which version of the Quattro is better, the early Group 4 car, or the later Group B monster?
Group 4 regulations for both rallying and circuit racing were replaced by the less technically restrictive Group B rules in 1982, resulting in some of the most exciting rally cars ever. This video features glorious back-to-back footage of the early Group 4 car and the later Group B S1 E2 Quattro, taken at recent classic rally events.
So which gets your vote, the restrained Group 4, or the full-fat Group B?
