This is what F1 second practice looked like in Austin, Texas, today. A massive amount of rain meant the session was delayed indefinitely, with marshals and fans being told to seek shelter due to the threat of lightning.

Thunderstorms swept over the area before FP2 and heavy rain continued to fall at 2:00pm local time, when the session was due to start. Boats would have been both quicker and more suited to the conditions!

The circuit was already soaked following earlier showers, with Nico Rosberg fastest in FP1 after limited running. With the clock ticking, FP2 was eventually cancelled. Further storms are set to arrive at the track for Saturday, due to the strong tropical storm, Hurricane Patricia.
