Look at this 911. Stunning, right? What made this beautiful car all the more cool for me was the fact that beside the youngish driver was a baby seat with (what I assume) was the guy’s young child nestled safely inside.

Instantly, I remembered a time when I was a small kid and one of my first memories was the ride that my mother used to ferry me about in.

The car was similar to the BMW above, a left-hand drive (from Germany) 1977 E21 3-series with the M10 318 four-cylinder engine and a manual gearbox. It broke down all the time and had massive rust holes in the passenger footwell and boot, but I remember loving the Bimmer even back then.

Small things stick out like winding down the windows as smoothly as possible to pretend to people that the car had electric glass, as well as being allowed to change gear with my tiny, four-year-old hands. It was also in this car that I learned what the traffic light sequence meant and that, on the whole, weekend drivers should stick to public transport…

Anyway, I’d like to hear your stories now. What’s the first car you remember, be it a trusted family member or otherwise? If you’ve got pics, share them below too!
