What's Quicker On Track: BMW M4 GTS Or Porsche 911 GT3?
The M4 GTS is intended to be BMW's take on the Porsche 911 GT3, but which is quicker around a track? Sport Auto put the pair to the test around Hockenheim circuit, and the results are incredibly close

vtaaaaaaaakkk
Isnt it obvious? Thats weid.
Welp,no surprises there…
If a Porsche GT3 doesn’t win on track, it’s not a gt3 anymore
To me, the M4 GTS is BMW’s show car (albeit a very good one), nothing more, whereas GT3 is the real weapon
Agreed. The Porsche looked so composed while the m4 looked almost violent. (Sounds incredible though)
I agree, that is exactly what I thought first too but then again, they made the same time on that track. Even though the m4 still looks like a fancy saloon and not a race car. Which then again is kind of embarrassing for the GT3 to make the same time IMHO since it actually is a “proper” race car compared to the m4.
Some top-notch driving there btw, huge respect. Nothing like autoexpress track battles where they try to talk during a hot lap, short shift and miss the racing line by a mile
But je slided a bit in the porsche. Could make it 0.2 faster
Or Evo where he brakes way too late and turns while he isn’t finished braking (no trail braking here) which leads to oversteer.
Where are the ducking times?!?
In the video description xD
BMW M4 GTS 1.09,6 min
Porsche 911 GT3 1.09,2 min.
In the description mate
Anybody else think the m4 is just a glorified saloon car? I mean really, is any self respecting petrol head going to choose the bimmer over the Porsche?
(I’m trying not to be biased here - it’s just the Porsche is so much more special.)
I agree with you on the Porsche being more special, the BMW M4 doesn’t pass into that kind of lightweight sportscar club even if it does have a carbon wing on the back that makes it “ more of a racecar”
I am the fastest i have koenigsegg
I have a feeling like the porsche is easier to master/drive on the limit. Whereas if you make a pro practice a lot with the M4, I bet it could just about outrun the GT3. (I would still take the Porsche over the BMW any day =P)
