The 80’s are just the perfect mix of modern and old - school design.

The more they look like cars that belong in f-zero the better. Fast forward to the future for me

I think the 90’s had the best liveries, the 00’s the coolest aero, but nothing beats the glamour of a 50s F1 car. Such variety, too. Here’s a ‘57 Ferrari 246

this is the only answer i can give since i grew up with these things screaming around tracks! These cars scared my dogs from watching TV so i would have to watch F1 in a different room to my family, but now F1 and my dogs can be in the same room since the cars sound quieter than richard the vacuum cleaner

So, 1990s or 2000s?

I’m probably one of the few who thinks the current cars actually looked alright.
The cars of the recent past (80s and some of the lower-budget 90s cars) simply look awkward to me, especially with their flat sides that aren’t even at full width.50s and 60s just are too old for my taste, and the 70s are the 70s, which produce a generally-negative thoughts for me.
It isn’t until teams started realizing that maybe it’s a good idea to try and make the underside of the sidepods as slender as possible that open-wheelers in general started to look attractive to me.That and wings that aren’t at the same height as the damn nosecone.
I’m probably going to hate the 2017 cars though. Bodywork at the front whose leading edge isn’t parallel to the y-axis from the top look absolutely garbage to me when it comes to any sort of open-wheeler.

I don’t think their is a best looking era but most cars from the 50s-80s look awesome

I love both the 70s (For the radical designs and variation) and also the early to mid 2000s with the V10s. I think the 04-05 cars just look so crazy that it’s beautiful.
Saying that though, the current lot aren’t actually bad either. They look purposeful and that’s the idea of a race car.

I’m expecting the least votes on the 2010s for some reason

Because it is the least favourite era of F1 in people’s eyes.
No matter how much technology they put it, the sport does not have the heart any more so people are not impressed.
