Why Isn't This Stunning, Original Audi Quattro More Expensive?
There are two types of people in this world: those who desperately want this 1991 Audi Quattro, and those who need their heads sorting out.
What you’re looking at is a 26-year-old proper Quattro, for sale with Classic Car Auctions next month. It has an intercooled, 20-valve five-cylinder engine that was good for 200bhp when it was new. Permanent all-wheel drive that revolutionised the world rally scene underpins a famously nose-heavy platform that will live forever in legend.
Although it’s a late version of the Quattro from 1991, and is much improved over the early cars, it’s not that fast by today’s standards. It will nudge 60mph in 7.1 seconds, but a 140mh top speed is probably more than you really need. There are two special things about this one: firstly, that it has covered 32,233 miles from new. It’s nice and low, but you could still use it yourself without ruining its value.
Secondly, it has only had two owners in its 26 years, both for about 13 years each. It’s completely original, in great condition with part-leather seats and ‘quattro’ branding. It even has a recent MOT with no advisories.
Finished in Tornado Red, this right-hooker is an original UK car, so with all things considered it’s a surprise to see an auction estimate of just £35,000-£40,000. Surely this has to be a sound investment. The Quattro could easily be the next model to suddenly hit six figures out of nowhere.
It’s up for auction at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on 23 September. You know you want it, so we think it’s about time you went and told your bank manager.

I need it! I…gime…audi
I want it as much as Kimi wanted his steering wheel.
I just now realized how much the Quattro’s front end resembles the Volkswagen Santana
The want is amazingly strong with this one. I wouldn’t ever care about sitting on the WRONG side of the car.
I am not suprised, it is not special as E30 M3 or 190 EVO. Not even close. Uncle had one 20 years ago and understeered to death with it.
Why buy it in real life when you have it on assetto corsa?
Its a awesome car, the Group B body kit is worth a lot
Rally car legend in 1983.
wait… didn’t the guys from car S.O.S. work on this one specifically?
Despite the sales pitch it still looks very outdated imho!
Also don’t forget, when buying from auction, on top of the hammer price (the highest bid) you have a buyers fee and also the VAT on top of this. Beware car auctions can be a buyers dream but also a buyers worst nightmare!!
What will it cost me to ship to the US
