Will Deadmau5 Replace His Purrari With This Nissan Nyan Cat GT-R?

Nissan decided to tweet a picture of this Nyan Cat GT-R to Deadmau5 after his recent Purrari cease and desist incident

Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, recently created one of the most iconic Ferrari 458s in the world by wrapping it in Nyan Cat colours. After taking the car on this year’s Gumball 3000 rally, Zimmerman received a cease and desist letter from Ferrari, which was unhappy with the Purrari branding.

However, it appears that another manufacturer has been following Zimmerman’s legal tussle. Nissan sent this tweet to Deadmau5 last night, showing a GT-R wrapped in the same Nyan Cat meme with Deadmau5 branding on the bootlid.

Nissan is no stranger to celebrity customisation; it made a special edition gold GT-R for world record sprinter Usain Bolt last year. But while Zimmerman has responded, it’s not yet clear whether he’ll plonk down the roughly £76,000 list price for what he’s calling the OMFGT-R. Particularly as he’s now the proud owner of a Meowclaren 650S.

The above image gives a closer look at the ‘Purrari’ badging that Ferrari wasn’t happy with it, as it mimicks the Italian manufacturer’s own font.
