WRC Driver Gets Lost In Car Park, Still Wins Rally

We can’t remember the last time a World Rally Championship event ended in this much drama, after long-time Rally Mexico leader Kris Meeke flew off road and into a car park in the final minutes

Meeke’s Citroen C3 WRC narrowly avoided hitting spectator cars as it jumped through the bushes and into the car park.

He seemed to get a little lost – shades of F1 star Kimi Raikkonen at Interlagos in 2013 – but eventually found his way back onto the road.

His lead was 40 seconds heading into the stage but he completed it still with a 13.8-second advantage over M-Sport’s Sebastien Ogier to win.

First a R8 LMS that crashed and won the race, now a C3 WRC that got lost and still won the race… What next?
