Yes, Dame Helen Mirren Has Actually Joined The Cast Of Fast 8

It's been confirmed that Veteran British actor Helen Mirren will be in the latest instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise, bringing a dash of class to the loveable but usually dimwitted franchise

So far, the production of Fast 8 has been rather predictable. It stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. There’s been explosions. We’ve seen cars thrown off buildings. Dame Helen Mirren has joined the cast. Wait, what was that last one…?

Yep, it was announced last night that Academy Award winner Helen Mirren, one of the greatest actors, well, ever will be bringing a touch of class to our favourite but admittedly dimwitted car film franchise. However, if you caught some comments from Mirren a while back, this might not be such a surprise. “I so want to be a mad driver in a Fast and Furious movie,” she said in an interview with Yahoo Movies last year, adding: “My claim to fame is I always do my own driving - I was on Top Gear, and I did [a lap] in a very good time. I keep putting it out there, and they never ask me.”

And ask her they have, it would seem. She won’t be the only Oscar winning in the film either, with Charlize Theron cast as one of the villains. We can’t wait to see how this all pans out - perhaps this will be the thinking man’s Fast and Furious film? We’ll find out when Fast 8 hits cinemas on 14 April 2017.

At least they don’t need a F&F gearbox for her. She’ll probably go 50 km/h in second gear in a Vauxhall Meriva.

She played her roll well in Red 2. As long as she acts as she did in Red 2, I approve.
