You Can Charge A Tesla By Towing It, But You Probably Shouldn't
The official line from Tesla is that you should never tow one of its cars with wheels on the ground as “damage caused by transporting is not covered by the warranty,” but if you do, you get a little extra charge in your battery.
Leave the powertrain on (again, something you’re not supposed to do when being recovered), and the regeneration effect of the motors tops up the cells.
In this interesting experiment which involved a Model X towing a single motor 85 Model S in Norway, the latter car gained 7.2kWh over 6.6 miles. It might have been a little more had the car been a dual motor Model S, or if the Model X was able to drive faster - as only a short rope was used, the owner wasn’t able to travel fast enough to get the maximum 60kW regeneration.

I can imagine people tandem towing their Teslas to charge it lol.
Infinite Tesla mileage? da da daaaaaa
Why not use hellcats to tow the tesla? It is charged by a supercharger, literally!
a few year ago the same was shown by some russian guy, but being polled by a truck…
Step 1. Aquire 2 Teslas
Step 2. Attach a rope between them
Step 3. Swap over every so often
Step 4. …………….
Step 5. Infinite charge
Step 6. Profit?
so if we tow a tesla with another tesla and when we change the cars’ positions when the towing one’s batteries are dead, do we have infinite and free charge ?? :D
No, get a dodge CHARGER so you can CHARGE your tesla.
Perpetual motion… drive a Tesla towing a Tesla. By the time the tow vehicle’s battery dies, the other Tesla’s battery will have a charge……
Someone needs to take two Model X’s and put them facing away from each other. Attach them using a regualar trailer hitch and a joint, put a small generator in the back of one and you could travel the entie country lol. When one gets low. Just park, get in the other on and turn around. Turn the seats down on one one of them and throw in a matress and youve got an all electric RV. (99% joking lol)
