You Can Now Tweak Your Hyundai i30 N to 316bhp And 386lb ft

Hyundai likes to make a big deal about the i30 N’s ‘BPM not RPM’ ethos - in other words, it’s about fun first and foremost, not raw numbers and Nurburgring lap times. But still, we can’t help but be curious as to how it’d shape up with a bit more power.
That’s what makes this show car from RaceChip particularly interesting. Via a chip tune from the German firm alone, the N Performance’s 2.0-litre inline-four turbo can punted up to 309bhp. Fit an HJS downpipe too, and you’re looking at 316bhp, exactly the same as a Honda Civic Type R.
However, while the Honda makes do with 295lb ft, an i30 N post tuning is good for a monstrous 386lb ft of torque, up from 260lb ft in the stock car. Sounds like a drag race waiting to happen…
Other upgrades on the show car include OZ Leggera HLT alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S boots, lower springs and uprated Eibach anti-roll bars.
There’s no word on pricing for the tuning programme just yet.

This upgrade on the upcoming Fastback hooo weeee
OMFG, 523NM from a 2.0 turbo i4 petrol engine?
That’s diesel territory!
RIP front tyres
The big question is if Hyundai lets you keep your warranty after this.
Also side note: the Racetrack is the Racepark Meppen in, you guessed it Meppen Germany.
Here is a Pic of me and my i30 N entering the track for a big Carmeet.
What it sounds like is a torque steer fest
I find it very hard to believe that Racechip can coax a 50% increase in torque from a chip without any mechanical changes. That would imply the OEM turbo is sized completely wrongly for the stock output. Would love to see an independent dyno to back up the claims…
The stock is better than a GT86, very good car for petrolheads who want to save money for the weekend restaurant dinner with their gfs.
Yeah the power and all thats amazing, but the car itself.. I think it looks ugly.
