You'll Be Charged Real Money To Fill Your Car In Need For Speed: No Limits

The irony of the name 'No Limits' is the fact that you're limited by how much fuel's in your car, and how willing you are to pay to fill up

Petrolhead gamers were no doubt super excited to learn that Need For Speed: No Limits would be making its way to their mobile devices in 2015, however Electronic Arts has managed to crash the game’s appeal into a tree by revealing you’ll have to pay for fuel.

Yes, that’s right, EA has combined two of the most irritating things known to man - in-app purchases and refuelling your car - to create extra revenue from its new game. The fuel runs down over time, and you can either wait for it to refill or pay to top up. It’s a game mechanic implemented in many free-to-play games, but could EA not have found a more interesting way to implement it?

There are a number of different currencies in the game which can be used to refuel your car and fit upgrades, etc. The standard in-game currency can be earned through racing, but the more valuable ‘gold’ can be purchased with real money.

Need For Speed: No Limits - well, some limits - is out now on iPhone and will be available on Android soon.
