You've Another Chance To Buy Richard Hammond's E36 BMW M3
Fancy a reasonably-priced slice of Top Gear history? Look no further. Having come up for auction two and a half years ago and sold for just £5830 - well under the £7500 lower estimate - the E36 M3 Evo used by Richard Hammond in series 15’s used sports saloon challenge will be going under the hammer once more.
Since the last time we saw it, the car has done 7000 or so extra miles, bringing the the total to 86,800 miles - still below average for something that left the factory 21 years ago.
The Boston Green example was infamously portrayed as failing an ADAC road-worthiness test miserably, but according to Classic Car Auctions, this M3 is in distinctly average condition. It’s been given ‘condition report’ of 85 out of 135, so in other words, it’s far from perfect, but it’s not falling apart either.
It has an MOT until August 2018, has a “partial history file,” and from the images at least, it really doesn’t look too shabby.
Tempted? The car will go under the hammer with no reserve at a Classic Car Auctions sale on 2 December. No estimate has been given this time.

The hampster car!
Alex Kersten the temptation
Make sure nothing happens while driving (the fact it was fixed cheaply after an accident suggested by the high score of the condition report).
I remember this, didn’t it only score 6 on the test, yeah no thanks.
Don’t forget Top Gear is an entertainment show, there’s a good possibility they exaggerated to make good TV, as they have admitted to doing other times.
Well I’m certainly not bidding on it without the yellow seats.:
Hammonds car had a brown saddle interior.
someone must have redone the interior cuz the combo Hammond had was so bad
Complete with the straight six that goes “BRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUMMMMM”
100%safe!
…or the hillside… or the house…
Unless your in a dragster going 280mph+…..
Here is his onboard lap video.
“m3 LAP”
Wasn’t this the car that scored 6 on the Rolling Inspection Test?
But it did hit 153mph on the autobahn
