Takeey's Garage - Ford Falcon

Takeey’s Garage in Japan always has strange and interesting vehicles for sale - usually rare cars and classics, this is a bit of both.

Back in the early 60’s, Ford created an all-american car which was to be short lived - the Falcon (not to be confused with the Australian Falcon).

The Japanese car-people are obsessed with unique - that’s why many European cars in Japan are left-hand-drive, and why so many Mitsubishi Eclipses were reverse-imported to the Japanese market. This Falcon is exactly that - unique and over-the-top.

Up front we have a black bonnet with a hole cut in it for the pie-dish air filter, and an extruding oil cooler. The lights are yellowed out in European fashion and a custom lip spoiler has been riveted in place for maximum race-attack.

Inside no expense has been spared as the interior trim has been completely stripped and the dash replaced with sheet metal and gauges. The seats are retro buckets seats and a purple roll-cage snakes its way around the periphery.

Under the bonnet lies a big Ford V8 engine; unfortunately I am not 100% certain which it is. The purple tubular rollcage is also present in here, ducking down behind the oversized radiator.

The Falcon has an aggressive stance sitting square on a set of widened steelies wrapped in GoodYear Eagle tyres hidden under some custom fender arches. The racecar/NASCAR theme is carried into the doors where safety nets lie in place of the door cards.

This is one very cool car indeed, even if the fender mirrors aren’t lined up.
