An Article About Cars: RE Amemiya Honda Today

No, we’re not done with Ama-san’s rotary swapped cars just yet. This time, it’s something more obscure than a Lotus Europa, it’s the Honda Today.

What's A Honda Today?

It’s a Kei Car produced back in 1985. From factory it’s available with either a 550 cc engine or a 660 cc engine. And of course since this is Ama-san we’re talking about, he rotary swapped it.

Rather than a 13B, this car actually uses a turbocharged, 2 rotor 12A engine, which produced 265 PS. Modifications on the engine are just like the Europa, simplistic and very OEM based. The turbine on the turbos itself are from the FC3S RX-7, stentako feet made by Trust (don’t know what the hell a stentako feet is. Could be derpy translation or maybe something related to a stainless steel exhaust), Trust sten muffler (i think it’s supposed to be stainless steel muffler), flywheel from the FC3S RX-7, intercooler and radiator also came from the FC3S RX-7, and wastegate made by Trust.

On the exterior, we can see a RE Amemiya custom made bodykit (don’t ask why it has Bomex sticker there, the website doesn’t tell anything about it), and gull wing doors. Yeah, that’s right, gull wing doors.

On the inside, there’s a roll cage and a Trust made VVC and REVIC (most probably the speedo and tacho because i don’t know what the hell those two words mean).

On the running gear side of things, there’s a Koni adjustable suspension, 4 pot brake disc, rotor, and calipers from the FC3S RX-7, and the diff also came from the FC3S RX-7. Tires used are Dunlop M2s, 205/50 R15 front and 225/50 R15 rear.
