5 cheapest sports car that you can buy in Indonesia

As you might know,Even though our petrol is cheap (Around 63 cents for RON 92 Fuel),Our tax isn’t cheap.Good cars costs very expensive here.Even Car Throttle has mentioned Indonesia as one of the most expensive country to buy a great car.Even with Rp 500 M (Around $34.230),The only thing you can afford is an SUV with the rear brake still used drum brake and an overpriced compact SUV with little feature (Cough Toyota Cough). But for Indonesians. You don’t need to cry anymore. Here’s 5 cheapest sports car that you can buy in Indonesia

1.Mazda RX-8

Thanks to it’s displacement,The Mazda RX-8 gets lower tax than another sports car (Cars that have engine displacement below 1.5L Gets lower tax than cars that has engine displaceent over 1.5L).With 1.3L Renesis Rotary Engine with turbo that produces around 186-225HP,The Mazda RX-8 priced just Rp 195 M ($13.349).Or cheaper than the most common car in Indonesia (Toyota Avanza)

2.Hyundai Coupe

The Hyundai Coupe (Or Hyundai Tiburon in some country) is quite underrated (Because Korean cars always underrated),Isn’t too fast,And isn’t too good. But you can buy an Hyundai Coupe for around Rp 220 M.($15.061).That’s cheaper than the cheapest new Hyundai here (Hyundai i20)

3.Toyota Celica

Let’s see.”Sexy” coupe body? Check. It’s a Toyota? Check. And affordable price? Check. The Toyota Celica might be a little bit underrated. But quite powerful with 1.8L 2ZZ-GE engine that produces 189 HP and also used by Lotus Elise and Exige and usually swapped to Toyota MR-S.The Celica costs you around Rp 200 M ($13.692) or still cheaper than Toyota Avanza.

4.Peugeot RCZ

The RCZ might be quite underrated because it’s an Peugeot (Because Peugeot makes bad cars.According to people). But it’s quite fast with it’s 1.6L Turbocharged engine that produces 200HP @5500RPM.It can makes non car guys think you’re driving an Audi TT or a Porsche Cayman. But the RCZ Costs around Rp 350 M ($23.961).Well it’s not the cheapest car in this list. But worth the price i guess

5.Daihatsu Copen

The Copen might isn’t fast. But it’s one of the cutest car in CT.After the Renault Twingo. And even it was on the cool section in Top Gear’s Cool Wall as described by this comic by AFR0N1

It actually broke the stereotype that convertible always expensive and small engines doesn’t mean fun.The new Copen still sold by the official Daihatsu distributor but for the used ones,You can buy one for Rp 230 M ($15.745).At that price,You can buy a new Daihatsu Terios but with Copen,You can get 2 times more attention by people

Honorable Mentions:Toyota 86,Mazda MX-5 NC,Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution,Subaru BRZ,And Subaru Imprezza,

Are you sure that the Renesis 13B is turbocharged? I’m not completely positive on that.

The renesis is NA. The FD RX7 used a turbocharged 13B rotary, but not the RX8.

CZ 69% Muscle

The RX-8 has a 13B-MSP “Renesis” which doesn’t have a turbo, it’s naturally aspirated. Also power figures are closer to 190-247 HP

They have two versions, the 192 engine and 231, but even the most powerful 231 makes only about 190whp

Don’t forget, the Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon was also called as the Hyundai Tuscani in its home market (South Korea) and Singapore.

86? Hell no. Too overpriced in here, since with that amount of money you can get Impreza WRX (non-STi ver.).
EDIT: and it’s double the price of the most expensive one on this list
