Who here has these '88-'89 port option basket-weave wheels? I want them. It's better to have these for my NA than have teardrop SC wheels.

This isn't periodically correct, but it's okay... Looks clean.

I love the graphic package.

I like them as well.. Are you trying to do a proper restoration? If not then id say go ahead!

I really want to but found out with my connections it’s kind of not possible,

With what I have in my shed, it’s not possible to revert to 100% factory. Here’s why:
Different seats (no one has base model seats)
Different color trim pieces (black versus the blue spares)
Center console box (mine originally doesn’t have one)
Different wheels (alloys), but I could keep the hideous steel wheels.
Different spoiler (brake light versus no brake light)
Along with various other things I could just repaint, but yeah…

So many things to worry about. However, it’s not about whether I want to do it or not, finding these wheels are so hard. I was lucky enough to have someone give me their SC model teardrop wheels for free. In fact, I hate to say this, but I’ll trade those teardrop wheels for these basket-weaves.

They look like MK2 Golf GTI BBS alloys.

Old Volkswagens have the same 4X100 bolt pattern as old Toyota small cars, believe it or not.

I think it is best to get it fixed up first…

I know, but that’s not happening soon. I’m getting all the cosmetic bits down so when it’s time to finally register and insure it, I’ll get the engine fixed and throw in all the bits I have at once.
