Project “Octy go fast fast” is a go

So i’ve had my VRS for 4 years now and drove it mostly stock. For the most part of this year i’ve been plagued by performance issues with the potential parts needing to be replaced ranging from injectors to dmf to dpf related issues. It got so far i considered selling the car but finally decided to fix everything and turn it into a proper project car. Yesterday was the day work started.

What has been done:

Swapped out original intake manifold (plastic one with air regulating flaps) for an aluminium manifold without flaps.
Full DPF delete
Blanked out EGR
New engine map with deletion of dpf, egr, intake air flaps and an additional about 70hp (i will get exact numbers after a visit to the dyno)

But thats not it. Theres a lot more to do and more power to gain so a little list of things yet to do is:

Stage 2 clutch
Better injectors
Turbo will be rebuilt into a hybrid one

And the biggest one: AWD conversion

As i make progress on the car i will upload info here and hopefully with more detailed pictures of work done.

Nice, AWD conversion? You mean haldex and stuff?

Yeah. Haldex but the main difference being not using a standard Haldex ecu but a separate Haldex controller which you can configure on the fly.

I’ve had a long chat with a mate who works at a Škoda dealership so he described how surprisingly easy it would be to convert a VRS into an Haldex AWD car.

There are mk1 tdi awd models. Just look for one. Now if you want an awd vrs then you have to actually frankenstein it from different cars.
