Women In Saudi Arabia Allowed to Drive!

Saudi Arabia has been the only country in the world to have a law against women driving. Days are not far away that women can drive legally in the kingdom. From June 2018, the women in Saudi Arabia will be able to get a driving license and thereby drive. On Tuesday, 26th of September, 2017; Saudi Arabia said it would allow women to drive in the Kingdom.

“The royal decree will implement the provisions of traffic regulations, including the issuance of driving licenses for men and women alike”, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. King Salman issued the decree, according to a royal court statement carried out by the SPA.

This announcement is indeed a vey huge one and historical. For years Saudi Arabia had been accused of oppressing women by not letting them drive and finally this announcement removes that negative thought. It is also good to know that it is not at all wrong for women to drive under the Islamic law. It absolutely fine to let women drive under Islamic law.

In less than two years, as part of the ambitious Vision 2030, the Kingdom has seen many changes that will eventually bring a lot of new change to the country.

Furthermore, a women holding a driver’s license in any other Gulf Cooperation Country (GCC), she is allowed to drive is Saudi Arabia too.
