Meet The Cars of Fast 9 (For Now)

The first trailer for Fast 9, aka F9, has been released, and like the previous installments, its going to be a ridonkulous rollercoaster ride of physics-bending action. The ninth installment sees Dominic Toretto finally meeting- and going head-to-head against- his forsaken brother and professional criminal, Jakob Toretto, who is played by WWE veteran John Cena.

Of course, the real stars of the movie (aside from our returning Han) are the cars, and from the trailer, there’s going to be a handful of them. From Dom’s Dodge Charger Hellcat to the A90 Toyota Supra, here are the cars that you can expect to see from the movie come summer. Timestamps which revolve around the cars’ appearance in the trailer are provided for your convenience.

2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody

Dodge’s signature product, the 2020 Charger Hellcat Widebody, will be continuing the age-old tradition of Dom’s relationship with the iconic muscle car model. At the 00:46, 02:44, and the 02:46-03:35 timestamps, we can see the car going around the jungle against Jakob’s Ford Mustang (we’ll get to that later). This unit of the Charger Hellcat Widebody is in black, with black dual stripes as the finishing touch. The widebody version of the Charger Hellcat provides a few additional performance and aerodynamic upgrades (aside from the obvious), while keeping the original powertrain.

1969 Chevrolet Nova SS

Dom’s sister, Mia, continues to prove that she’s got great taste in cars, with the 1969 Chevy Nova SS. The last time we saw Mia drove a car that turned heads, it was a dark blue Ford GT-40, which she was commanded to drive by Dom in the car heist scene from Fast Five. The ‘69 Nova SS was the third generation of the Nova silhouette, where the highest SS variant runs at 375 horsepower at 5600 RPM. You can spot it at the 01:09, 01:12, 02:30 (on the left), and 02:35 timestamps, donning a metallic grey paintjob with black dual stripes.

Noble M600

The Noble M600 makes its franchise debut in F9, where in the trailer, only makes a brief appearance at the 01:46 timestamp, where we can see it pull up to a big mansion party where Jakob and Dom would meet up again. Here, the M600 is draped in metallic purple with signature yellow Noble decals. In case if you’re asking, no, its not the Carbon Sport variant of the M600 that’s appearing.

Custom Pontiac Fiero (with a f'n rocket strapped!)

When we’re saying that this Pontiac Fiero is a custom unit, its not what you’d expect from a franchise like the Fast Saga (a new name for the latter). In fact, it goes beyond any sort of superstition, prediction or assumption. This Fiero is sacrificed as a test monkey, as it is strapped with a gigantic rocket engine on the back, with Roman Pearce on the wheel. Both Tej and Roman found it outrageous, but who knows. You can find this monster from the 02:12 to the 02:25 timestamps. Its purpose is yet to be known, but the Tokyo Drift crew (Sean Boswell, Twinkie, Earl Hu) were responsible of such an outrageous creation.

Custom 1968 Dodge Charger 500

It seems like Dom will forever be attached to the Charger silhouette, as the Edinburgh scenes in F9 will include him driving this beautiful 1968 Dodge Charger 500. This is not the first time this generation of the Charger appeared in the Fast Saga however, as it is also seen in Fate of The Furious and Fast 7, in different iterations. In F9, this Charger is slammed quite nicely, fitted with a roll cage upgrade and some nice mags. If anything, its a muscle car fan’s wet dream. You can bask upon its beauty at the 01:10, 02:09, 02:11, 02:30, and the 02:39 timestamp of the trailer.

Custom 2015 Ford Mustang GT

Some may have speculations that this is a whole new model from Ford, but from what we’re looking at, it might not be the case. This Mustang is given little exterior mods like a rear spoiler, hood scoop, and a singular stripe vinyl, but has a hefty lot of internal mods, which include a nitrous system and the godlike ability to jump from a hill so high, it would be a field day for Sir Isaac Newton, should he be alive to see this trailer, of course. See the custom ‘Stang in all its glory at the 02:48-03:00 timestamp.

2020 Toyota Supra A90

Surprise! Justice for Han has been served, as Sung Kang makes his long-awaited comeback to the franchise, 7 years after his most recent appearance in Fast 6, where it was revealed that Deckard Shaw “killed” Han. In F9, he will return along with the previously mentioned Tokyo Drift crew. Along with him, is the all-new A90 Supra, which is still being made fun of for being the child of the Toyota-BMW partnership. This Supra is dressed in familiar decals, as a nod to Han’s now-wrecked Veilside RX-7 from Tokyo Drift. Expect him to pull up with the rest of the crew in Edinburgh, as seen in the 02:35, and the 03:45 mark.

Which one of these cars are you anticipating to see in F9 (should you want to relish in the ridiculousness of the movie)? Sound off in the comments.
