Probably best way but still not 100% is fix mounted latches. So you have to bolt them in and then unblock them if you want to remove the hardtop 🙂 like in this pic 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Maybe you could use special bolts with like a weird star pattern to get extra security out of the mounts.

Best hardtop anti theft device is something called ACNE TALON locks, hands down. It’s like a better looking Top Loc. You need the factory clamps though. I’m from the SF Bay Area, and this place is literally the Miata hardtop theft capital of the world. Someone from this area came up with them. They are pricey but worth it. Alternatively, you can do what the other have said and use the Jazz or Garage Star brackets with special, hard to find bolts (this is a cheaper option).
