Hunting Unicorns: Rare EG Civics that may or may not actually exist

Recently I came across a entry in a Wikipedia article that suggested that an AMG Civic was actually produced in South Africa, at first I assumed that this was just a bunch of malarkey but upon further research it turns out this may possibly be true. As it turns out, in the 90’s Mercedes was one of the main dealers for Civics and it is a possibility that some of them got an AMG treatment.
According to themidnightgarage website it came slightly lower than the factory Civic, rear spoiler, 16 or 15 inch Remotec rims and had AMG badges on the rear and center caps on the wheels.

The Civic Bali Edition

A rare 1.3L civic that came with an optional 50cc scooter to match the car. Most people declined this offer however to get an extra discount on the car.

Civic Dow Jones Edition. This is one of the variants I am more skeptical about if it actually exists. I was able to find out that it came as a sedan and sported Dow Jones badges on the rear. The only images I was able to find were the floor mats it was supposed to come with.

The Wall Street Edition Civic. Just as the first one I am not sure this car actually exists. I was only able to come across the badges that were supposed to be fitted on the car. According to themidnightgarage website it was a sedan that only came in the color red.

The Civic Silverstone Edition. I am sure this edition actually exists as I found one that was recently sold. I believe it came with a 1.5L motor

Civic Sir-S (Only 3000 produced)

Civic Si 20th Anniversary Edition. Was fitted with color matched body pieces such as handles and mirrors. Came standard with D16a9/Zc

EDM Civic Forest Green Edition (250 made). Based on the Silverstone edition. It came in forest green with not much options compared to the other strange editions. It did however have a badge on the interior showing which of the 250 made you owned

Chubuchiki Gentei SRI-II. Not a whole lot is known about this Civic other than it is a Civic special edition exclusively released in Japan and some of the only information I could find were on either themidnightgarage site or the Honda forums. Apparently its more like the Loch Ness Monster of the eg Civics. People have heard of them but have never actually seen one. It supposedly came with red and black seats and a red exterior with a graphic of some nature.

Big thanks to whoever runs the “themidnightgarage” website as they have provided me with enough information to shed a bit more light on the special editions they have listed on their website and all the info I needed to compile the list.
