The new ownership of Boosted

For those who don’t know, Sean Barret of Boosted has essentially left the channel. According to the current owner of the channel , Sean never owned the channel…

I find this somewhat hard to believe as the first video uploaded on the channel does sound like Sean himself, at a younger age, however I’m still a little unsure.

From the video Sean has uploaded on his new channel it is fair to say that he most likely did not leave off of his own accord. Most likely the current owner of the channel has got rid of him.

Lets say hypothetically Sean never owned the channel, this means that the fan base Sean attracted and developed with his personality has been more or less taken from him. The 100k sub play button that he earned now belongs to a channel that is no longer under his possession. Is that really fair?

The channel most likely wasn’t bought out as it only had 132k subscribers, hardly an investors dream.

The “new” owner of the channel is also somewhat misleading with the video and especially one social media where Sean’s fan base becomes hyped up about his return before being let down by one comment left by the owner.

My Opinion

The only theory I can come up with is that whilst Sean was doing gaming his channel was growing at a high rate. During this time he could have been given a partner. The contract given to him could have been a contract that auto renewed meaning Sean could never get out of it and due to his channel growth slowing down the partner that he was with most likely wanted to seize the channel. Now I’m not entirely sure on this theory, these auto renewal contracts are present with partners such as Machinima where it could become impossible to escape them but I simply do not know whether Sean was part of one of these contracts.
