Engine Swap Time! ZZ427 with 480HP in a 1300 kg car....

So the engine is dead, makes weird noises and my mechanic is pretty sure its more then a head gasket. Instead of spending time and money on the old tired engine, Im going the crate engine route. Its actually even cheaper compared to rebuilding because everything is so expensive here. ( especially labour). I choose the ZZ427 over a bigger one ZZ502 because I dont want to stress the car to much and because it will fit right in. And because it`s the legendary 427! Seriously 480 hp should be plenty enough right? I mean the car only weighs around 1300 kg …. I will keep you posted about the swap!

Well……..Not yet! Waiting for the engine to ship here. It will take a couple of weeks… Going for a 7 litre 480 Hp crate engine from GM performance …. my butt dyno says the old engine had about 350 hp at the wheels….so this could be very entertaining. With no power steering no power brake and skinny tires this could be a handful!
