Dont go for it mate the 320i is so incredibly slow you will be far better with an 325i or an 320d
I have a 335i with the n54 engine. If you can buy a clean one they’re fine. I have probably the worst BMW engine ever made in terms of reliability but mines been fine. You can take it to any dealer and they’ll inspect it and read the codes for about $50. Highly recommend that. Parts are cheap. Find a competent workshop other than a dealer though. Anything other than the inspection will have a really high labor charge. I’d recommend it if you’re comfortable with the inspection results.
Bmw as a first car?! F*ck me i wanna live wherever you do
It’s not about the place I live in it is about motivation and setting goals. My goal is being able to buy a quality first car for around $7k. My family isn’t rich but it’s definitely not poor but I’ve denied any financial help from them while buying a car. I am working, studying and am a CT moderator and i do strive to have the best future I can. If you can set goals and so everything you can to reach them you’ll be able to do everything you wish in your life
I’ve heard that maintaince is not needed often with the E90’s but my guess is that when you do need it, it’s rather expensive and plus you still need to check for other problems as well
Lmao how about you buy like a Chevy Malibu or something and get me one as well with the money instead? 😂😂
Work hard and you’ll be able to afford one as well ;)
Alright kmpl (mpg) is 5.7l/100km. I mean thats not that bad but… If you really want a RWD car, reliable buy a Opel Omega mpg is from 7 to 8 litres per 100km. Not a Lot more but… But i think its a bad idea getting a RWD car as a first car. If you really want a German chick magnet get a Audi.
If i was you i would buy something cheaper but with decent power/driveability because then you can try advanced driving a bit more and gain confidence to your driving easier. After a while i would upgrade to car like that later and then enjoy it more :)
The e90 320i was my first car and honestly, as a person who loves driving, it was perfect. Firstly, they are amazing to drive, it’s a BMW after all. Alot of people will say that a RWD car as your first car is not a good idea but that’s when the 320i is perfect. It’s not too powerful to get you into any real trouble. You’ll be able to get the back out in the rain… But that’s only if you really try hard enough. In the dry it’s a beautiful car to drive. It’s perfectly balanced and tackles corners really well. As well as that, it’s a good long distance cruiser as well. You don’t feel the speed or ever get uncomfortable.
For maintenance, I’ve had the car for just over a year and despite having to change my rears twice (my own doing) (lotsa skids and burnout) I’ve only had the routine oil changes. However!!!!!! When looking for one, MAKE SURE you look at the fuel pump. These cars have a history of falty fuel pumps and when I was searching for my 320i I encountered 3 with fuel pump issues. Other than that, all I can say is enjoy. If you ever have any questions you can always whatsapp me. +6581359991 (I trust my car lover brothers won’t spam me cause we family)

Having same dillema here, looking for first car and I really like BMW 3series, I am looking 318i and 320i. From what i gathered most important thing is not a high milleage and regular maintance.
