Introduction

Ahh the car culture. My favourite thing in the world. Modding cars, driving fast, listening to the sound of the engine. Sad thing it will die, die becouse we will spend all the oil we have. But is that the end?

Eletric cars. Bad or great?

Ok I’m not going to talk about the MPG, or anything like that. I will talk about 0-100 in 2.5 seconds. And it gets better.

Cheap cars

Ok you just bought a Focus. Congratulations. Let’s move 30 years to the future. You did the same thing. But something is diffrent. What? Well as you see eletric cars are cheaper to build with a RWD than FWD. Also eletric cars are faster to 100 kph (60 mph) than petrol ones. So street racing will be cheaper, much cheaper. Also your Fpcus will turn into a drift weapon amd if you don’t trust me look at this Leaf.

So as it looks cheap cars are better and as we look into Tesla’s sedans are also better. But what about the holy part of the car culture? What about the dream of a every 9 year old kid? What about rich people?

What about supercars?

Let me introduce you to the Rimac Concept S. The strongest version of this car. It comes with 1380bhp. Yes that’s more power than Koenigsegg One:1. And yes this thing has a range of a (drum roll please) 1000km (625 miles). Also it’s Croatian, so it comes from a country that invented Football and a Tie. So we know what we are doing. Also it’s faster than LaFerrari, P1 and Porsche 918 on 402 meters (1/4 mile). So I belive supercars will be good in the future aswell.

Modding cars?

As you see modding cars will be diffrent. Cahnges won’t apply to engine, but to the setup of the car (downforce ride hight etc…). Cars could get some new wires but other than that power wil lbe harder to improve also future cars will have less mechanics and replace them with eletronics.

It’s inside the human nature, it’s something that pushes us to be number one. I’t doesn’t matter if it’s a petrol racecar, eletric minivan or a lawn mower. If it has four wheels and it runs it’s a car, and people will race with it.

Times change and we all will need to face it. However, we’ll all miss the days when cars are able to be fixed ourselves and mechanics don’t need to have Computer Science majors.

Agreed… but that Leaf is FWD with plastic tires on the back, not a RWD drift weapon!

Anyway more and more econobox EVs will be build with RWD. For reasons like more space in front for passengers. Clima and other electronics will move further to the front.

I agree,I went with my dad to test drive a Nissan Leaf and they’re fairly quick at launching off the line! I hope we get to see some RWD Drift Leaves…

You could mod an electric motor etc, just harder for basic mechanics, as they don’t have the right knowledge

Shmee’s life will be easier

I don’t think electric cars are the way to go. The minerals mined to make them have a bigger carbon footprint than gasoline cars. Also they’re not that cheap to make. The way to go is hydrogen or air power. Or magic. Definitely magic.

Maybe hydrogen/fuel cells, we will see, but I agree that Battery power EVs are going to be for only limited time, until we find something better.

It’ll just evolve and evolve again and again and there’s possible way to predict it. I remember this picture from 2008 and this is what people thought the 2012 Mustang was gonna look like.

Im more concerned about self driving cars than electric cars ruining car culture, especially when people are advancing so quickly on them. If they take the scene soon, companies that make cars you’re supposed to drive will die, and I will never be able to make BKA. Also self driving cars will kill car culture as we know it (I should make a blog about this).
