#MyBuild - The Nissan 300zx Virtual Mega Build
Hello and welcome to my first #MyBuild! What I want to do with this is to create my ideal Nissan 300zx, looking at parts such as body kits, wheels and other parts, as well as what’s under the bonnet and the interior.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own a 300ZX unfortunately, but I will talk as though I do have one.
Exterior
First off, the bodykit. The front bar would be either a Stillen bar (shown in the opening image) or one from Greddy Trust (below)
Next, the rear bar. This is an easy one, as I believe the TwinZ Design rear bar, with a carbon fibre diffuser. This would be complimented by a pair of B&B exhaust tips, to finish it off.
The side skirts will also be TwinZ Design, going with a wide bodykit, for a nice subtle touch while also adding a bit of beef to the rear end (not that it needs it)
Wheels
Wheels for any car can be a tricky and choosy, but I think I could narrow it down to 3 sets: The Work Emotion XD9’s in a flat grey (above) SSR Professor SP3’s, and the classic Volk Rays TE37SL’s in a nice gloss black with a red accent.
Colour
If it’s a Nissan from the 90’s, it’s hard to go past a gunmetal grey, and the 300ZX is no exception. A Bayside Blue from a Nissan GT-R R34 would also be a nice choice, as well as a pearl red or white.
Engine
Although the VG30DETT is a nice engine, with a good kick of torque in the mid-range thanks to its twin turbocharger setup, incorporating a turbo charger for each cylinder bank. What that means is that each turbocharger has its own intercooler and each exhaust system too. What that means, however, is that it is a pretty heavy engine, and is also very large. Add that with DOHC heads and you have an engine that is shoehorned into place, with barely any room to work with. For these reasons, I would remove the engine and replace it with an In-line 6. Being much skinnier than a V6 means that there is a lot more room to play with, while also being lighter than the VG. Preferrably, I would put an RB26 in the bay, but seeing as they’re becoming increasingly expensive, along with all the parts for them, an RB25/30 (RB25 head on an RB30 block) single turbo setup would do nicely.
Accessories
Here come all the little touches that will make the 300ZX. First off, a one-off adjustable spoiler would be a nice touch. Then for the interior, a Momo wheel would not be a bad choice, especially the Panther wheel, as in the Stillen GTZ Super Z.
So there you have it. My perfect 300ZX. I’d love to see your builds, so don’t be afraid to use the tag, and get into as much detail as you wish. It could also be what you want to do to your current car, so get creative and I can’t wait to see them!

That’s awesome. I should do one of a brz
There is a ‘99 right down the road from me for sale. I doubt it’s a turbo.
Anyway, very nice post! I like the idea for doing something like this!
Awesome!
