How hard is it to pop a wheelie?

Stock production wheelies aren’t impossible anymore. The Demon and most recently, the SVJ (a LAMBORGHINI) have popped the front wheels in the air. So the question is: How hard is a wheelie?

Well, first thing first is your setup. Obviously, if you have more weight in the back the easier it is to pop a wheelie. This is why 11 second porsches can lift the front wheels, yet 9 second Audi’s or BMW’s dont even lift. Porsche runs a setup with the engine in the back, allowing for godly traction with a RWD setup along with possible wheelies without even using slicks.

The SVJ and the demon have 2 different types of wheelies. The demon’s power launched the car up while the SVJ’s suspension made the car bunny hop into the air.

Wheelie (Theoretical) Requirements

RWD | Rear Engine:
700HP (Ekanoo 911 Turbo S)

RWD | Front Engine:
800-900HP (Speed Society Camaro)

AWD | Rear Engine
1500HP (H2k Charger)

AWD| Front Engine
2200HP (Alpha Omega GTR)

The relevant specificstions are the height of the center of gravity, the longitudinal position of the center of gravity, the setup for weight transfer, stiffness of the rear suspension and maximum transmittable longitudinal force at the rear wheels.
Not a complicated physics calculation.

A lot would come into play with that depending on the vehicle. To put it simply, you just need really good traction and weight transfer.

If that car is rear wheel drive and has 2000hp+ with a weight reduced front all stock then it can wheelie pretty easily.
