1996 Mercedes Benz E280 Elegance

I haven’t posted a single thing here in a while, so here’s one.

Don’t be fooled by the pictures. The car sure looks nice, but in reality, there are heaps of work to do. But it’s alright - slowly but surely, it’ll be one of the cleanest - if not the cleanest - W210 in Malaysia, if not the world.

Anyway, this is my 1996 Mercedes-Benz W210 E280. Being the earlier model, this car is powered by the M104 2.8-litre straight-6 DOHC 24-valve engine pushing out 193 horsepower and 270 N.m of torque, mated to a 4G-Tronic 722.4 four-speed automatic.

When my dad and I first got it, it was riding on 19 inch rims that is way too large for it, prompting my dad to swap them out for these lovely 17 inch AMG rims rolling on 215/55 tires. I have no idea what sort of spring it’s running on (it’s probably cut) and it definitely needs to be swapped out soon for original or properly-developed aftermarket springs like H&R or Eibach because currently it scrapes over speed humps near where I live and it rides badly. The bodywork needs reworking, and some interior bits need replacing or fixing.

It is a project car, for sure. Slowly, but surely.
