Nissan Micra K12. 1.6L 16V 110HP. It's tunable up to 127HP, but i guess you could force up to 150HP with ported valves and performance air intake (maybe even more with more mods). The coolest thing about it is that it has an official Nismo bodykit.

Well considering the below 1000 kg weight that’s a nice amount of power. Moreover, these cars aren’t all about power anyways. I’m the type of guy who likes light cars with small power but high power is always welcomed.
Yeah, it should handle very well, especially with some performance tyres.
Or even drift it with performance tyres in the front and plastic tyres in the back.

SR swap it! (kidding)
But I’ve seen K11 with SR16 engine, might give some inspiration for you.
I doubt i could get that homologated.
