CRC 5-56 or WD40?

Which one do you recommend?

Everyone I know has always used CRC - heck I even have 2 cans of the stuff!
I have never used WD40 but I see that my favourite auto-parts store now stocks the stuff.
Should I give it a try or stick with ol’ faithful 5.56?

Here’s the problem with WD-40 from my own experience: it doesn’t last very long.

I bought a silicone spray from Sonax (famous german brand for car care) and I’m trying to lubricate the door hinges of my car with it. I hope that it stays longer.

WD-40 seems to attract dust and then just makes the problem worse, definitely use silicone spray on hinges and stuff

Wd40, I’ve never used the other stuff before but I don’t think you should only have 1 can of stuff. I have multiple cans of wd40, silicone spray, penetrating oil, graphite lube, aluminum lube, Vaseline, synthetic grease, brake cleaner and simple green. You shouldn’t be using 1 thing on everything like how petroleum products break down rubber.

Don’t worry, I have Penrite Copper Eze and Moly Grease, CRC Assembly Lube, Lithium Grease, 5-56 and Pentration oil, and a couple other randoms like Caltex grease.
