The Ferrari 500 Maranello Prodrive with chassis no. ZFFZR49B000113136 was built in partnership with Care Racing to complete in FIA GT and ALMS GT1 championships. It was fitted with a enlarged version of the naturally-aspirated 5.5-litre V12 which now bore a displacement of 6.0-litre and produced upwards of 600 horsepower at its full state of tune. In the five years of its competition career, the Ferrari competed in every Le Mans 24 hours race while being a part of other racing championships, such as the American Le Mans Series Championship (ALMS) and the Le Mans Endurance series. While its Le Mans best would be an impressive 3rd in class, the Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive got its glory in ALMS, where in 2003 it claimed three podium finishes that resulted in second overall in the entire year’s championship. Throughout its racing lifespan of 33 events, the Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive picked up 14 podium finishes, 10 pole positions while taking the win in 5 races.
