Chevrolet Silverado Jackal is the unknown Raptor fighter

Chevrolet still hasn't entered into the performance truck market, but PaxPower has

The Ford Raptor is an incredible vehicle, adding performance to the pickup. For fans of Chevrolet trucks, though, the brand has never offered a performance competitor. Luckily for Silverado owners, though, PaxPower in Texas will make your truck into a Jackal.

The Silverado Jackal is more capable on and off the road. There are three stages, depending on specific needs and budget, but all can have up to 442 horsepower with the addition of a GM Performance Cold Air Intake, a GM Performance Stainless Steel Exhaust System, and a GM Performance Computer Calibration. Since those are factory GM upgrades, your Silverado’s warranty won’t be voided.

The first stage couples that power with the looks and off-road cred it needs. It’s got four inches of lift, held up with advanced shocks and suspension. It also needs that extra space underneath the wheel arches to accommodate the 35’’ off-road-ready tires. This is the basic build, costing $15,000, but it only gets crazier from here.

PaxPower says that in stage two, the Jackal lines up squarely with the V6 Raptor in price, performance, appearance, and off-road capabilities. This stage incorporates the Stage 1 upgrades, but adds 6’’ of stance to that lift. The fenders and the bed is flared out for that menacing look. This’ll cost you $25,000, but still isn’t all you can get.

Stage 3 makes the Jackal stand out even more. Adding a custom hood and bumpers, incorporating reshaped fog lights. Most notably, the bumper has a 40’’ light bar mounted on it. The tires are also upped to 17’’ wheels with 37’’ specialty off-road tires mounted on them. That’ll cost you $35,000, and Pax Power says a Stage 3 Jackal “compares to name-brand conversion Raptors costing far in excess of six-figures at a fraction of the price.”

If you’d like your Silverado converted into a Jackal, send it down to PaxPower for about three weeks and they’ll send you back a Raptor-beating pickup of your own, by Chevrolet. But would you take it over the Raptor? The Jackal has been around since October of last year, but you’ll have heard far more about the Raptor than this, and that’s a shame. This can truly give it a fight.
