The reasons for a dead battery can vary from something simple such as leaving the lights on or more complicated areas such as a failing battery, alternator isn’t charging, corrosion on the battery terminals, or a parasitic draw. These portable jump starters will have various ratings which states it’s maximum engine size or cold cranking amps. This particular model for 300 cold cranking amps or up to a 5.4L V8 engine. When purchasing one of these portable boosters, ensure the maximum engine size exceeds your engine’s size. So for this example, this is a 3.4L V6.
