10 Racing Liveries That Would Fit Any Car

Hello everyone.

I am Harry “rabbit_ish”.
I am a huge petrol head and aspiring car photographer/journalist. I have made a few posts here before, but honestly its been a while since I sat down and wrote something. So here I am, back again.

Today I’ll be discussing my personal favourite paint schemes that seem to fit pretty much everything. For the sake of “any car” I won’t be including things like the D2 racing liveries that would fit every Mercedes (no matter how much I want to…) but anyway, introductions out the way and lets get to it!

10 | Repsol

Now, immediately this isn’t an obvious choice.
Not exactly an unknown livery, but not popular either on the comparison to something like Red Bull.

Repsol..
Probably most notably sponsor(ed) teams like Seat, Lancia, Ford, Mitsubishi in many different motorsports like WTCC, Dakar, WRC, Moto GP and many more.

The Madrid based fuel company has had some absolutely fantastic paint schemes over the years, and as the list title implies can fit pretty much anything.

Either in a blue with orange and white or a white body with a few orange stripes, they always seem to stand out from the rest.
Any car can be bright and visible, but there are the few like Repsol that just stand out.

And although they aren’t my favourites, they do look absolutely stunning on most things, so it had to be on this list.

9 | Castrol

Okay, so someone probably saw this one coming.

LOOK I KNOW I KNOW IM A GRAN TURISMO NERD BUT COME ON!

Look how stunning it is. No matter what its on.
Unfortunately, although there are still some around you don’t often see many fully branded or coloured Castrol team liveries anymore. Its mostly just the occasional side sponsorship, but sometimes we are lucky enough to get one.

It doesn’t stand out as much as Repsols do, but you can always catch it and think of the times when you raced the Supra on the endurance races on Gran Turismo thr-
Okay nerd time over. In a simpler way of concluding it - it is just iconic.

8 | Advan

Again, an absolute classic.

Spanning many many motorsports and manufacturers, Advan have always used a similar style with the black body and red stripes, some not even showing the Advan logo at all.

Most recognizably from the R32 GTR Touring Car from JGTC and the Porsche 962, this one is one that I personally believe would fit anything.
Even a lawn mower.

Although like the Castrol ones you don’t really see many in the modern era, its still iconic as hell and honestly I would love to see more of it.

7 | Demon Tweeks

Okay so heres a different one.

Unless you’re from the UK you might not have heard about this one.

Demon Tweeks is a racing parts store who have sponsored many British owned teams in BTCC, British GT and more. While most of the older cars have a red base and the yellow logo, some of the newer ones have a green / orange affect which I think has a really nice tone to it.

While not on many teams or cars as of right now, I still believe its one of those that would fit anything. I honestly like comparing the newer one to something like the orange / blue of the Gulf racing liveries or the deep blue / orange of the 2018 McLaren F1 team. It just has such an nice offset to it and it not only stands out from the rest, but is absolutely gorgeous and cemented in British racing history.

6 | Gulf

How could I miss this out.
Possibly one of the most recognizable of all race cars, the fantastic Gulf livery and its extensive Le Mans and GT racing history is part history in our motoring world.
With an a stunning light teal blue as a throwback to the times of the GT40 and many other historics, with an offset orange stripe down the middle.

This as I said early is probably the most recognizable and iconic of all motorsports paint schemes.
You look at just the colours and instantly know.. “thats Gulf..”

5 | Marlboro

So you probably saw this one coming, right?
Probably just as iconic as Gulf, Marlboro was on just about everything throughout the 80s, 90s and even the early 2000s.
Red and white is all you need, even when they took the logo off its still just as iconic and beautiful.

Sadly, Marlboro is the kind of thing we will never see again due to the strict laws on advertising tobacco.
Obviously, thats a good thing, but a bad thing at the same time.
I do sometimes wonder what it would be like if things like Marlboro, B&H and Rothmans were things other than tobacco. Maybe an energy drink? Who knows.

4 | Jagermeister

This is honestly one of my favourites.
So simple but yet so gorgeous.
Its not over the top.
Its not crazy.
Its just, simply, beautiful.

A standard orange, sometimes offset by a black stripe or two on the side, mostly being used on DTM teams or German teams in general.

Thankfully things like these are not ones to disappear like tobacco sponsored cars, so these are part of past, present and hopefully the future of motorsports.

3 | Rothmans

Easily my favourite of all the tobacco schemes.
I’ve used words like “iconic” “gorgeous” “stunning” too much here.
And honestly, this one is a lot more than those.
It is mouth-wateringly amazing.. So godly… So….. Racing.
And honestly it is just one of those things that makes racing, racing.

Even though tobacco sponsoring is dead, this some how lives on. Even if its just the colours. Its that fantastic!

2 | Red Bull

So…. You definitely saw this one coming.
I like to think of energy drink sponsorships as the modern day tobacco ones. I mean, they’re pretty much as popular as they were with similar marketing.
At least they’re only advertising a drink and not cigarettes.
But back to Red Bull.
Theres something quite remarkable about these, they’re so recognizable. Yet, they’re everywhere. On everything. Its quite interesting and honestly when you think about it, its quite stunning a drinks company can sponsor so much, own many race teams including a formula 1 team, own a race track, many football teams and so much more. It shows the age we’re and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Red Bull gives you wings”
Deep blue with red and yellow with the infamous Bull. You can spot it from a mile off and yet no matter how overdone and how many cars and bikes and everything we see with Red Bull plastered all over it, you still just gotta love em’!

And now… The one you’ve been waiting for…

1 | Martini

What else can you say other than wow….

I know, I know…. Its an obvious choice… But with good reason…
I once walked into a bar and was shocked because I saw a bottle of something that looked like a race car on my game. (Yes I was young, and before you ask why I was in a bar…..) Frankie and Bennys.
But anyway, something in my mind always loves this. I just do.
The white or even sometimes red base, the blue alternating stripes, the iconic logo.
Something about this.. No matter how simple it actually is.. It is just racing history at its best.

Sadly…. We found out recently Martini is ending sponsorship with Williams at the end of this year as far as we know.
Lets hope they either find something else to sponsor or at least come back in the future. I’m just glad this one never died. Its part of the racing legacy and its still here which is something truly amazing.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope your time was well spent.

Once again I am Harry, and I’m out.

Why no Shell? They’ve had some awesome liveries over the years

Also, is it just me that doesn’t love the Jagermeister livery? I mean, it’s just orange with some white writing on it . . .
