Taking over the Long Tail tradition from the F1 GTR LT is no easy feat but, the 675LT takes that challenge in its stride. This is Fast Facts and today we’re looking at the awesome McLaren 675LT…

The 675LT has a burnout mode

Yep that’s right, this lap time munching Hypercar in disguise has a mode dedicated to leaving thick, black elevens on the tarmac like it’s a blank canvas. To enable this mode you need to turn off the ESC and put the car into launch control and away you go. You’ll be leaving elevens at every junction now.

It holds the power lap record at the TopGear Test Track

Back in series 23 the 675LT ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISHED the lap record at the TopGear Test Track by 0.1 of a second. The previous record holder was the Pagani Huayra a car that costs at least, 2 times more than the McLaren.

It’s really light!

The 675LT weighs 1,358 KG and that’s light for a car that has number plates. The carbon tub weighs only 75KG to put that into perspective that’s one of my legs. I’m joking. It’s 75,000 grams.

TopGear said it was the best McLaren since the F1

Best. McLaren. Since. The. F1. That’s exactly what TopGear Magazine put on the front cover of the magazine that featured the 675LT review. The overall verdict of the car was: “What McLaren does when it lets its hair down. Utterly bonkers, totally brilliant”. The “bonkers” McLaren got a 10/10 rating. Just like its bigger brother, the P1.

Only 1,000 were made

Well actually, 500. There was 500 coupés and 500 spiders. All of them are sold out and the price of a nicely speced coupé is around the £300,000 mark. Ouch!
