Is this Hybrid Turbo C220 CDI really a mk3 Focus RS slayer?

Its not often you hear of anyone thinking a C220 CDI could possibly be a contender for a Mk3 Focus RS, and i am almost certain most of you will strongly agree with that statement.

I have wanted to share my car on here for a while now, but never previously had the chance due to work commitments over the past month or so.
The car in question is actually my very own Mercedes C220 CDI, which has undergone a complete overhaul from November last year to this very day.
She is now running a fully rebuilt 2.1L OM651 Engine, with the standard bi-turbo setup stripped and rebuilt by AET, using larger compressor wheels, a 360 degree thrust bearing capacity, and K06 housing on the second turbo. Further down is a custom 3” catless downpipe, with a non resonated 3” system and backbox delete - essentially you could say a full straight through.
The stock intercooler has been removed and altered to handle the increase in temperatures, but much like everything else on this model with no off the shelf items it all had to be custom made.
Even right down to the swirl flap blanking plugs and EGR delete, the final piece of the puzzle was getting someone to actually custom remap the car to accommodate the new modifications.

Exterior wise its pretty much as it left the factory, apart from the full dechrome, gloss black alloys, and sitting on adjustable coilovers and fresh Powerflex mounts all round.

Her latest dyno see 286.2bhp & 543 ftlb at the rear wheels, on normal Diesel (not premium or anything).
Future plans include an LSD, and some water methanol injection later this year.

So is this 4 cylinder oil burner really a mk3 Focus RS contender? I’ll let you decide!

In straight line it should be. Corners are a different matter though.even with a lsd. My old Fabia vRS had one and even though it handled really well it couldn’t keep up with the likes of a modern hardcore hot hatch

Oh for sure.
Especially being RWD its hard because the more torque, the back wants to play more.
I know what you mean there, my old stage 3 Fiesta ST had no LSD and it was a nightmare trying to get the power down each time.

A decent set of tyres would help i reckon…
