It’s still in the Touareg and Cayenne though. They have unlimited tuning capability and are powerhouses.
Precisely
I think someone said, it could take 600 hp on stock internals

But hopefully that’ll cause the VW r32s to drop in price. Thus making them affordable be me! 😁
The new Atlas has the 3.6 VR6
Hey Jason, nice box.
Hey Charles, nice white board!
Sadness me greatly that character is being phased out in the name of efficiency. I get its human to strive for perfection, but when everyone achieves it - what’s the differentiator?? So many new hatches running 1.6 or 2.0-liter I4’s, and there’s not one of them I’d describe as desirable. Capable and competent, yes but desirable? No. They all sound utterly terrible when stock, and aftermarket exhausts just seem to amplify how dull the exhaust note is. The wall of torque they all produce between 1,500/2,000 rpm through to 5,000rpm requires little effort to extract performance from, and to me that isn’t engaging in the slightest. Anyone can plant their right foot and go quickly in a straight line - particularly when it’s paired to a DSG/ auto box. I love the 12v VR6 so much that I’ve had two MK3 VR’s (attached a pic of my old Highline) and I’ve desperately wanted a 2.9 Corrado for years. The stock noise alone is a good enough reason to champion them, as is the fact that they do need a bit of work to make them pull but its so rewarding when you get it right. This is all in my humble opinion of course…as I realise the MK3 isn’t the most desirable model in the Golf’s history. That said, I still want to drop a 2.8 in to a MK2 Syncro shell…that’d be late 80’s/ early 90’s VW perfection for me.
As a vr6 owner i am triggered, i understand everything is about efficiency, but you cant beat that vr6 grumble!!!
