Project car mileage

If you buy a used car that you’re going to, for example, turn into a drift car, does mileage matter?

It depends on the car.

If you plan on lots of engine mods and/or a new transmission then no

High mileage means that shit will break on the car left and right. Seals, bearings, bushings etc. One thing after another. That said if you’re going to turn the car into a dedicated drift car, you will probably wear these things out at a faster rate anyway so it doesn’t really matter. Plus when something on the car breaks it gives you an excuse to put in an aftermarket upgrade.

If you want to make the car drive like new you will probably rebuild the engine anyway. If you get into serious drifting you’ll be rebuilding engines a lot, since you made it a racecar and racecars are always on the limit, (if not you are doing something wrong) the parts will wear out pretty quickly.

Depends what you’re gonna do to it. If you’re engine swapping, it doesn’t matter
