As if my very first guide wasn’t enough, here I’ll upload the second one. The complete guide to every possible locations you can spot in Jakarta and its surrounding areas and the perfect times and days to go spotting.

Plaza Indonesia

Recommended Day(s): Saturday, Sunday
Recommended Time(s): After 12.00 to midnight (Saturday), From opening time (11.00) to night (Sunday)

This is the best place to do car spotting in Indonesia. Best known as ‘the Dubai Mall of Indonesia’, almost every Saturday/Sunday at least one nice/exotic car will appear here. Either it’s Porsche 911s to Ferrari 458s to any random exotics, they can just pop up here. The security is friendly and they’ll welcome any single person to take pics of the cars.

Below were the best points to spot them:

The main VIP parking lot

Usually people who were too lazy going to the North Lobby of the Plaza can just park here. If you’re lucky you can get 4 or 5 spots like me above, but usually there were 1 to 3 exotics here every Sunday.

The East (and North) Lobby

This is the main point where the exotics tend to park as the parkings here were reserved for VIP parkings. At least one exotic car appeared every Sunday (any model).

The South Lobby

The so-called disabled parking lot is actually the best bet for an exotic car to park on in Plaza Indonesia term. Same goes to the VIP parking lot in the front.

My best spots:

Pantai Indah Kapuk

Recommended Day(s): Saturday, Sunday (weekdays can also be possible however)
Recommended Time(s): From afternoon to midnight (Saturdays), The whole day (Sundays), noon & evening (weekdays)

You might be surprised why I chose this as the second best place to spot nice cars. Because the possibilities to spot nice cars were higher than those in Plaza Senayan. Also known as ‘the Beverly Hills of Indonesia’, this place is best known for its high-end restaurants, high-end bars, millionaire’s homes and of course, rich people’s hang-out locations.

The preferred locations:

Yes, these will really get interesting. Usually nice cars tend to appear around the roads pointed above. Especially on Jalan Marina Raya. They can either be parked on any of the parkable spots, in front of any of the restaurants, stores or cafes.

You can also go to the neighborhoods on the surrounding area, but I did not encourage you to do so, as most of the security guards there won’t allow you to enter the neighborhood if you don’t have anything important to do.

Above is the Pertamina Gas Station 34-14415, which usually became a main refueling station for nice cars. Also, almost on every Sunday morning and evening, nice cars tend to gather here.

Plaza Senayan

Recommended Day(s): Saturday, Sunday
Recommended Time(s): Morning, evening and night (both Saturdays & Sundays)

Plaza Senayan is one of the shopping malls that had some of the high-end fashion shops on Jakarta. So, when that happens, you know that it means more nice cars will appear there right?

The preferred locations:

The easiest locations to spot nice cars would either be on any of the 2 locations above. Usually, every Sunday morning, you might also randomly saw other spotters already gathering in the location, waiting for nice cars to appear. TBH, I ever saw spotters that had gathered and prepared when a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano showed up, as seen below:

You can also regularly saw nice cars on the fourth floor of the parking garage, on The Arcadia Hotel Senayan (just across the parking lot) and Fairmont Hotel Jakarta, which was just a 3-minute walk from the parking lot. Fairmont Hotel is also a recommended place to spot cars as new exotic cars tend to be displayed in the lobby of the said hotel, I’ve seen the Rolls Royce Phantom VIII and BMW i8 Roadster there.

Senayan City

Recommended Day(s): Saturday, Sunday
Recommended Time(s): Evening & night (Saturdays and Sundays)

Senayan City is one of the biggest, most prestigious and most exotic shopping malls on Jakarta. So does the rides that many rich people tend to bring. And also, the location was just across Plaza Senayan, so you can just simply get there by crossing through the road that would usually take only 5 minutes by walking.

The preferred locations:

The nice cars were usually parked in the main lobby, on any of the VIP parking lots in there. You can also try to find nice cars in the basement area, but they’re not really recommended as the chances to find one were quite small.

My best spots:

Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, Hotel Indonesia and Kempinski (combined)

Recommended Day(s): Saturday, Sunday, almost everyday (for Kempinski Private Residences)
Recommended Time(s): Evening & night (Saturdays and Sundays)

Grand Indonesia, like other shopping malls on the list, is one of the most prestigious, most expensive and wealthiest shopping malls in Indonesia. Not only malls, the apartment in the same building (Kempinski Private Residences) is also one of the wealthiest and most prestigious residences in Indonesia, so does the hotel (Hotel Indonesia). So it won’t be surprising if there were nice cars here.

Both lobbies of Grand Indonesia East Mall usually had exotics parked at the lot. The VIP parking lot at Hotel Indonesia randomly had exotics, and the Kempinski residence parking lot (at floor 7 to 10) was home to some of the rarest, limited supercars in Indonesia. For example, 1 of the 2 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni in Indonesia tends to appear here.

The Gunawarman Hotel

Recommended Day(s): Saturday, Sunday
Recommended Time(s): Morning and noon

This is The Gunawarman Hotel aka. the best hotel for car spotters in Jakarta. Why? You can almost always find nice cars here. This hotel is the main location where most wealthy people would also gather with their nice cars.

• SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District), including Fairgrounds SCBD, Beer Garden SCBD, also sometimes nice cars can also appear right in front of my mom’s office building at The Energy Building SCBD)

• Senayan and its surrounding areas
• Pondok Indah
• Pulo Mas
• Kelapa Gading
• Ancol
• Serpong
• Alam Sutera
