When people talk crap about other people's cars just to make themselves look more superior in some way... Controversial post that no one will agree with.

Every kid ever. At least I can appreciate other people’s rides, kinda.

Yeah. We don’t need to appreciate/respect/like what other people drive, but bashing on people’s rides are just rude and immature.

Very true… And its true that you should respect every build, but ricers… If you know more about tuning cars then you can help and give tips to that person so that they know what is actually the right way tuning and modifying a car.

People who rice their cars aren’t knowledged like us. They have a potential to be someone who knows how to modify their car. They just need help and small jumpstart.

They are like some of us when we were younger and played racing games where you could modify your car. What did those cars end up being? Ricers. But the older we got and started to know what is actually good looking and what is bad.

I agree. My philosophy is that you don’t need to respect any car, but as long as you stay civil and internally say “meh”, and walk away is the perfect way to avoid arguments and look like an idiot by criticizing and hating, unless the owner asked you opinions.

I know a focus ricer here on CT pretdending his car was a rally one, but guess the hp comes from the stickers

Do you also respect the work of serial killers? Some of them put a lot of work into their crimes. We always respect the work of others if it appeals to us on a personal level. Some work is just a waste of time and money and it should be ok to point it out without a new war breaking out.

Not having a car is not a bad thing at all.

You should be happy for that. Once you get a car and start tinkering, you will quickly learn the dark side of personal financing…

I agree man, I used to be like this when I was 8, where my instincts say I must criticize other people’s car when it’s not up to my standards….

But as soon I know more, I just ignore it

That’s a good thing to do.

Others can ignore your critique, as well.

You can hate certain cars, as long as you can justify to yourself why. I’m just curious why people hate hybrids and electric cars because about half the people I ask can’t really state a reason.

Please explain to me how I can hurt your car’s feelings? Or how I, as a stranger, can hurt (or other owners’) yours because I don’t like your/others car or its horrendous (to me, but likely others too) styling?

Full disclosure: I do own a car and have not made fun of yours. Please leave the politics of fluff and rainbows to other sites. Cars for enthusiasts are a matter of taste, if we all liked the same thing, there would be far less variety to chose from, essentially what you’re saying is we need to all like the same thing you do. Or have you never EVER said nope, not for me, about someone else’s work?

Where in this post says you have to like what I like? Heck, I’ve never said I adore the Civics and Prii, didn’t I?

My message was simply you can dislike something, but just internally say “ew” or “meh” and move on, no need to keep bashing a certain car or style. Simply put, I meant “we get it, you hate Prius/Tesla/rice/whatever, just say it once and live on.

And another thing: Roasting is a form of entertainment today. You can see that here, with a dedicated section. You can see it on the television, you can see this everywhere. And it’s all in the name of good fun and a laugh. But some kid disrespects your woodscrew Pandem replica body kit and suddenly your world is up in flames.

Roasting, like you said, is entertainment and that’s when people know it’s a joke and laugh it off. However, insults emerge and shit gets personal and that goes in the wrong direction.

I have no problems with people talking shit about my tastes and all, but I’ve dealt with a ton of shit here just because someone took someone else’s words a different way. Criticisms soon become personal insults. This is what sparked me to make this post. It mainly applies here on CT. It’s a hidden message to tell people to not take shit seriously and cause chaos in this community.

Very true, even though i don’t own a car yet, but i still appreciate other people’s cars, and i don’t mind priuses , but i hate that prius drivers when they see themselves as gods trying to save the planet.

I agree with you 100%! You would never know the value of someone’s car unless you own one… You would even have no idea how much even a small mod will cost… And civics are really good BTW… I like them!
