Is a gen 6 celica a good first car?

So I’m just about finishing driving lessons and booking my test, but I want a car for when I pass, I was looking at gt4 celicas but decided that I should wait a while and get some experience. However I love the look of the gen 6 celica and was wondering if it’s an ideal first car for someone who plans on keeping it for a long time and if so what kind of things should I look out for when viewing them, thanks

It’s basically got a Corolla drivetrain, so it’ll be reliable, with the sporty chassis of a Celica. So you really can’t go wrong.
Just look for rust in the usual places (rear quarters, doors, hatch, A pillars, etc…)
Also check for oil leaks, condition of oil and coolant, suspension, etc… If possible, get the car inspected pre-purchase. Not sure what country you’re in, but I know in Australia you have a right to get a car inspected before purchase.
