Why is the vantage ugly?

OK so what is up with the design language of Aston Martin? I understand that they needed to update the Vantage, but why do such a bad job at it?
Aston Martin design philosophy, particularly around the front end, is very functional, and through that beautiful in its functionality.

The reason for it is the synergy between the headlights and the main grille. The way the headlights follow the line started by the grille, as well as how they use the line atop the grille to be the halfway point of the headlights at their starting point. But that only works if the headlights are close to the grille. Also how the headlights do not exceed the line midway through the tire, and all these little design quirks are laws that previous Aston Martins obeyed by. The DB10, was a beautiful car from every angle but one, the front. Although Aston received criticism for the ugly design for the front, they continued to throw out their own laws for design. Even the DB11 doesn’t follow the correct lines and there is an incomplete synergy between the two elements.
What do you guys think, is the new Vantage ugly, or is it fine? BTW the top picture was edited by me in accordance with the Aston design quirks. Do you think its starting to look like an Aston? There are still ways to go

Most of new cars look ugly to some people because they are too used to the old thing. Try to be a bit more open minded about new car designs. Of course there are cases which the car is disgusting but thats not the case

i agree, to your argument as well as to the fact that the title is a little clickbaity. the thing is aston martin’s designer circa 2000-2010 henrik fisker had a set of laws that determined beauty. Those laws were reflected in every aston until the db10, where, because of the movie the car gained popularity, as well as appreciation in design, and determined aston martin to pursue a different design philosophy. Now i can agree that it is a beautiful car from every angle but the front. Others think is fine and others think it’s gorgeous. Previous astons weren’t so polarizing, and that should be indicative of how people perceive the new design philosophy. the fact of the matter is that the car is fine looking, but it’s not beautiful, at least from the front, it’s just a bit bland, conservative, disproportionate to the design language of the rst of the car. I simply raised an observation and proposed a solution

I think it’s about mid range in the looks really. It’s not pretty, but it’s not really ugly either. I think it resembles a new era for the Vantage considering its AMG’s half-child.

I personally think that the front really fits the new shape of the car and synergieses with the rear (at least more or less) and although I also hated it at first for the same reason TheStig’sGermanCousin did, I, now that I’ve gotten used to it, I think although I agree with most of your points it looks good. They’ve tried something new and in this case it works. What I like about it is that it looks sporty and aggressive.. Almost like a cat casing a rat (if that makes sense).
BTW I’m only talking about the vantage.
And a last note: sry for my wierd grammar im kinda tired rn😅
