Snow Driving The 2016 Jeep Cherokee

Having driven my fare share of jeeps off road, i can tell you the cherokee kl is by far the worst one that i have driven off road. The 4wd system could be described as adequate (the one with the low range, not the useless awd setup), but the whole package is problematic. The is no solid axel in the rear and the suspension has very little travel. The worst thing is the ground clearance, aka it has none and worst of all it has got minimal underbody protection. I’ve driven one extesivelly in a realtivelly easy off road course and it kept dragging its belly and eating dirt with the front bumper. On road it was good enough, but come on the only reason i’d buy a jeep is for its off road performance, otherwise i might as well get a q5. The funny thing is that i found the little renegate to be suprizingly more agily and off road worthy.
Overall i think it is a good car for a snowy road, as it provides enough traction, but not for off roading… the trailhawk maybe but i haven’t driven that.

If I ever bought a Jeep for some reason, I’d go with the Wrangler. I think the purpose of the Cherokee is kinda…meh…and the headlights are aweful imo. Solid sound system, though, but other than that, the Wrangler is a monster compared to that

Why my friends Cherokee got stuck in some snow last winter, I told her to turn the TC off to actually let the car put power to the wheels and it clawed itself right out immediately. Always give it a shot if all else fails.

Hello Jason. I had the opportunity to drive the 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine and 4WD, but I thought the jeep was FWD in auto and sport and changed to 4WD in mud/sand or snow mode. I found online, all trims have FWD and can be switched to 4WD. I could be wrong but I do not think the this jeep has AWD; especially in auto.

Oh and great videos by the way Jason, definitely helped with with understanding more complex topics, but I liked the way they related to my physics class, actually going to Cal Poly Pomona to get a physics degree to head into automotive engineering.
