The meaning behind car model names.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

The word ‘Sesto Elemento’ means ‘The sixth element’. The reason this car was given this name is because the car is almost fully covered in carbon fibre, and the sixth element in the periodic table is Carbon.

Ferrari Enzo

The Ferrari got it’s name from the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team, Enzo Anselmo Ferrari.

Ferrari 458

The Ferrari 458 got it’s name is because of the engine - A 4.5 V8

Chevrolet Camaro

Chevrolet were actually going to name the Camaro the ‘Panther’ and they made it to compete against the Ford Mustang, however Chevrolet wanted their car name to begin with a ‘C’, so then the name ‘Camaro’ was given to Chevrolet’s car.

So where did Camaro mean? Was it just some random bundle of words?

Some original Camaro team member was quoted saying a Camaro is “a small vicious animal that eats Mustangs.” Other sources say it means some vulgar or unsavory things in various languages such as French and Spanish, but it is basically just for the sound of it I think.
