This 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback Is A Tribute To Steve McQueen's "Bullitt Mustang"

This here is a Bullitt Mustang replica that was recently sold at Mecum Auction that is painted in the typical Highland Green colour of the Bullitt Mustang while also being equipped with the iconic American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. To complete the movie Mustang look, the front grill is completely blacked out and devoid of any emblems. Also, just like Steve McQueen’s car Bullitt Mustang, the replica is powered by the S-code 390 (390 cubic inch V8 engine used in the 1967, 68 and 69 Mustang) and a 4-speed gearbox.

The Bullitt Mustang replica from Mecum is also equipped with a Holley 4-barrel carburettor, open-element air cleaner, aluminium radiator, heavy duty suspension, front disc brakes and black Deluxe interior with bucket seats.

This is a 1968 Mustang, like the car used in Bullitt. The ‘69 has a very different bodystyle.

We need a remake of that movie.

No we don’t. Just go watch the original. I don’t need to see Channing Tatum doing a weird Steve McQueen impression in a modern Mustang.

No, what we need are movies based in the 60s and 70s using only what they had available in the decided year

I think they could pull it off, but only if they do it right. Like if they get Chad McQueen to do a cameo somewhere.
