#Different Build, with the BMW M3 E36...

Welcome, to my second #Different build, this time round I’m going to be fantasising about the BMW M3 (E36) a car which has recently become my favourite M3 and in fact my favourite BMW. So what can I do to change this 90’s German barnstormer, well as you’ll find out soon, quite a lot.

£8,500 is what buys you the cheapest BMW M3 E36 in the UK, it doesn’t seem so bad when you think that it has everything that I need, but then again that car is filled with rust and as a certain CarThrottle employee found out rust repair on a E36 isn’t cheap. Which is why I would go with this cleaner looking E36 which is a first generation car meaning that it only has 210HP on tap from the S50B30 engine. However, you’re forgetting that I’m going to tear this car apart.

Engine Swap!

Take the 3.0L Twin Turbo Straight 6 out of the brand new F80 M3, which means 425HP and 406lb-ft and put it straight into the E36. That means double the power and torque of the original B30 engine. Mounted with the F80 M3’s 6- speed manual, to keep the grunty and manly feeling to the M3. Also I hear that a F80 M3 with a Akrapovic exhaust is off the eargasm charts. Obviously the exhaust will be made to fit (Hopefully)

Steal From the F80 some more.

All the fancy suspension and differential thingy’s from the F80 M3, also with the addition of the 6 piston Carbon ceramic brakes, for some moar stopping power.

M3 Lightweight Body Kit

This exact body kit to give that 90’s DTM feel to the car, although I’d have slightly wider arches as the one’s on the Lightweight M3 are stock and are the only thing missing to complete the DTM look.

This Livery

What better colour for any car than bright orange? Also with the addition of the Jagermeister livery, because a bright orange M3 doesn’t get enough attention as it is…

Wheels!

The’s Work VS-XX, in silver with chromed wall’s would look mint on this E36 (I only just realised that Work do these wheels exactly how I just described them, and there is a picture on the website, but I’m too lazy to change the picture). Slap on some Michellen Pilot Sport Cup 2’s and this E36 is all set.

As usual, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this #Different build. Comment on what you think of this build and we’ll have a nice chat!

Thanks for reading,

I’d rather have the E46’s engine and just the stock rims and no livery…Otherwise my build would be pretty similar to yours.

Interesting. There is a German tuning company that put the 4L V8 from the E92 in an E36. It’s a tight fit though.

Nah, the E92 V8 is the obvious choice

I’ve always wanted to drop an M3s engine and running gear into a e36 compact. So thats probably what I would do.

I agree 100%! The V10 from the E60 M5 in this M3 would be badass, plus a Meisterschaft exhaust just yo amplify that glorious sound. Wow
