Steve Job's Infatuation With Porsche Spawned The Apple Porsche 935 K3

What happens when the technology giant from Cupertino collaborates with the automotive wizards from Stuttgart, well you create the world’s first iPorsche. It is surprising to note that Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple Computers has always been quite fascinated with German Engineering. Jobs was known to be huge ‘Porsche Guy’ during the 1970’s and the 1980’s though he switched over to the Mercedes from the 1990’s. During Steve Job’s Porsche fanboy years, he was known to have quite a fleet of Porsches in his garage. Moreover, there was an instance of him gifting a Porsche in 1984 to the best salesman of Macintosh Computers in the US.

During the 80’s, Apple Computers were on the mission of increasing their brand visibility by advertising through various merchandise like coffee mugs, sweatshirts, sweaters and even shoes. What can be argued as a strategy to bring visibility of the Apple brand to the European market fuelled by Job’s fascination with PORSCHE, the collaboration of Apple and Porsche took life in the Motorsport arena and the Apple Porsche 935 K3 was born.
