An Article About Cars: RE Amemiya Lotus Europa

Isami Amemiya, known to be one of the best rotary engine tuner that the world has ever known, he has his own tuning company that specializes in rotaries called RE Amemiya. Now i’m going to tell you about one of his old projects, it’s a rotary powered Lotus Europa.

A Rotary Lotus Europa?

Yes this little car is actually rotary swapped (well what do you expect from Ama-san anyway). The engine that’s used in this car is a peripheral ported 13B rotary engine, tuned to produce 277 PS. The whole bodykit is made by RE Amemiya, and according to RE Amemiya’s official website (which has to be translated by Google because it’s in Japanese), on the interior it has a custom interior made by RE Amemiya, steering wheel made by Auto Jewel, a white meter(?) made by Lacom (Google translating things might get derpy sometimes), speedo and tachometer, and a 4 point seatbelt. Underneath, there’s a For F3(again, another derpy translation) made by Ralt, Koni adjustable shocks, coil springs, brake, caliper, and rotors made by Lockheed, Endless brake pad, and brake hose made by Earls. The tires are 205/50 R16 Yokohama tires front and 245/45 R16 Yokohama tires in the rear

Its achievement

Its power is relatively small, rated at 277 PS, but its top speed is not what you can call slow. It topped out at 282 km/h around Yatabe Test Course. And reaching that speed with only 277 PS, this car is ridiculously quick.

Well that’s pretty much for this short blogpost (again), i hope you guys enjoy it, link for the website will be down below, and i will see you guys next time.

I think that ‘For F3’ is reference for Ralt F3 (an open wheeler) suspension.
‘White meter’ must be a speedometer.
