Are Saab 900s reliable cars?

I was wondering if mid 1980’s to 1990’s Saab 900s are reliable? There is what I think is a turbo one in my neighborhood that hasn’t moved since I moved there a year ago. It has thick 5 spoke wheels similar to those of which are on the Testarossa. It looks all good but I don’t know. The car is always parked behind another. The house has a Jeep and another car that I don’t believe move. Jusdging by the selection of cars, everyone else’s cars, the house, the streets, and the fact that I am deep in the country of the Midwest (Iowa U.S) I can only assume it is an old couple that owns it. Is it a reliable car and should I buy it? I also know about the whole transverse engine thing as well as the fwd front wheel hand brake layout. Ugh. Anyway what do you think

Yeah well where I live there is a Saab dealership near by in Illinois. I don’t know how far away. Even if it is far away since used cars go form dealership to dealership they come down more. Also not many Saabs are in a place like Iowa anyway

They are reliable. The turbo engines are good for 400bhp before they need internals, fordged as standard lol

Not really reliable plus Saab doesn’t exist anymore so finding parts is very difficult. Better off not getting one.

no thx

It depends on the owner and how well they treated it, parts may be an issue.
